Victoria's Pregnancy At 40

I found out I was pregnant on 7/16/08. I am about 11 wks pregnant now. I just turned 40 in June.

It's funny because I was unmarried with my first, who is now six, and felt happier. Now married to my child's father, we are a little overwhelmed.

We talked about another one when I was around 36 or 37 years old, but I ended up having fibroid troubles. I had procedures and surgery and was told that I would probably not be able to have another child.

So we kind of didn't care about protection, and guess what? - I am pregnant at 40 years old!

Not only am I wondering about all these tests I never had before, but financially daycare prices stink. My Mom watched my son, which I will not have as an advantage this time around.

I wish all women who love children the ability to conceive. That is why we decided to have this little one. My son has always asked for a friend in the home.

This was natural with no kind of drugs involved. I guess when you think it can't happen, God will show you how. I have my first-look ultrasound on 8/22/08. Please pray that nothing is wrong. I will be tested for Down syndrome. I opted out of the amnio and CSV.


P.S. I beat my Mom by one year. She had me at 39 years old, and I was her best delivery. She is now 79 years old and acts young and still gets around on her own.
