Surprise Pregnancy!

Big surprise! When you get older, things like this tend to move faster....

I started carrying tampons around when my breasts started feeling sore, thinking my period was on its way, though it seemed a bit early. Instead, my period seemed to be late. I though, "Oh well, this happened last year when it was a full week late."

Mid-January came and I realized a test was in order. Got the cheap generic brand and was stunned when it showed a "+" immediately. My 40th birthday was looming. Surprise, surprise!

My partner says he knew I must've been pregnant when I first complained about the breast soreness- "It was too early." That didn't even occur to ME at the time.

We had been careful all this time (withdrawl), less so during my periods. I've never been pregnant before; never been on the pill either. Granted, I'm healthy and active, but all I've ever heard from the female gynecologists (and nosy people) was, "If you want a baby, better start NOW!" kinda thing.

For those of you who are trying: Stay healthy, keep moving, and don't believe the naysayers!! May you soon be as surprised as I am.
