Pregnancy First Trimester

The pregnancy first trimester can be the most uncertain and exciting of all the pregnancy trimesters. The pregnancy first weeks usually pass with a woman not even knowing she's pregnant. Many women don't know they're pregnant until they have missed their period, and some whose periods are irregular don't know they're pregnant until further into their first trimester of pregnancy. Most women who are trying to conceive, however, know in very early pregnancy that they're pregnant.

First Month Pregnancy Symptoms
The first trimester pregnancy symptoms can sometimes be difficult to discern, especially if you're looking too hard for a sign that you're pregnant. Most of the first month pregnancy symptoms occur after a positive pregnancy test, but many women have first trimester pregnancy symptoms earlier.

These symptoms can include early pregnancy cramps, bleeding in early pregnancy, and pregnancy nausea. Also present many times are sore nipples, breast fullness or heaviness, and frequency of urination. Some women have a metal taste in their mouth and/or gums that bleed easily when brushing their teeth. You can see more early pregnancy symptoms here.

Spotting during early pregnancy is very common, especially around the time a woman's period is due. I thought I was having my period with both my sons, although it was much lighter and stopped after the first day. This early pregnancy bleeding is usually implantation bleeding that occurs when the fertilized egg implants itself in the uterine lining.

Cramps during early pregnancy are also a common pregnancy first trimester symptom. As the body prepares for the growth of your baby, the uterus will continue to go through a lot of stretching, which will mean cramping and pulling sensations throughout your pregnancy. This is especially true for first pregnancies, as the uterus hasn't been stretched before.

Homemade Pregnancy Test
There really is no homemade pregnancy test that I know of. However, there are very inexpensive pregnancy tests that can be purchased online or at a local Dollar Store (in the U.S.). Sometimes you have to ask for the pregnancy tests, as they are behind the counter. If you are embarrassed about purchasing a pregnancy test, there are many places online to purchase very inexpensive pregnancy tests that are very effective in detecting early pregnancy.
