Pregnancy at 41
My story is as I am learning an extremely rare one. I have been soo blessed!
My husband and I married at 40 - both second marriages. I have two children from my first marriage. My husband and I wanted to have children, but he was a bit hestitant to commit to trying to conceive, though we did start trying 5 months into our marriage. I went off the pill, and away we went. Before the first month passed (before enough time for me to know whether I was pregnant or not) my husband got cold feet and wanted to postpone TTC. So I agreed to wait 6 months. So back on the pill I went, heart-broken but trying to accept the situation. That 6 months turned into a year and counting. Now we are both 41.
One miraculous day in October I was feeling some unusually sharp pains in my right side during sex, which prompted me to see the doctor. After a pregnancy test he informed me that I was in the VERY early stages of pregnancy!! My pregnancy, labor, and delivery was textbook - I felt wonderful -- quite possibly better than I did at 23 & 26!! At 42, I delivered our perfectly healthy, beautiful little girl at 8 lbs 3 oz. She is our little miracle and we are SOO blessed.
When God knows the desires of your heart He makes things happen-- HE is STILL in the miracle business! Praise HIM!
Today-- we are talking about having a second child. I can hardly wait :)
