PCOS and OPK's NEW
by: Sally

I've read that women with PCOS can get inaccurate results using ovulation predictor kits. This could be due to lack of ovulation altogether or it could be due to a hormonal imbalance, but I'm not really sure the cause.

To have a better idea of whether or not you're ovulating and when, I would advise using several different ovulation predictor methods.

For example, if you also use BBT charting, then you can tell from month to month if you're ovulating if your temperature spikes mid month (see more info here.) If your temperature doesn't spike, you can have a pretty good idea that you're not ovulating.

Also checking cervical mucus is a good backup method to know whether or not you're ovulating, although you can still be ovulating and not have egg-white cervical mucus. (Read all about determining ovulation here.
