No Ovulation Mucus

by Ria
(Cambs)

We have been trying to conceive for the last three months, but failing. I don't have any stretchy egg-white discharge. We have been having intercourse on the ovulation dates, but still with no luck. What could be the problem?

Please help!

Try For Longer
by: Sally

Three months of trying to conceive is really not that long. I know it seems like a long time when you're really wanting a child, but it's not uncommon at all for it to take a woman six months to a year to conceive.

If you haven't had your husband's sperm checked, that's the easiest test to have done, which will rule out problems with him.

Make sure you are having intercourse leading up to ovulation and not just the day you think you're ovulating. (See more at this page about ovulation.)

Since you're not noticing any egg-white cervical mucus, it would probably be wise to have some blood work done for you to make sure your hormone levels are in a good range. Fertile CM is a great supplement to improve and increase cervical mucus. Also, make sure to drink plenty of water and avoid caffeine around ovulation time as well, as caffeine can dehydrate you.
