Mittelschmerz

I was on birth control pills and just recently got off of it. A week later I started ovulating and having gas. I'm not expecting my period for another week or so. Are you suppose to have gas while ovulating?

Ovulation Pain

This sounds like what is called "mittelschmerz," a German word meaning "middle pain." I have experienced it feeling like you described, kind of like gas pains that I couldn't relieve. It can be very uncomfortable and somewhat crampy, and sometimes I had light spotting accompanying it.

It's not know whether this pain occurs before, during, or after ovulation, but it is an indication that you're ovulating.
