Liz's story
by Elizabeth
When my husband and I took our first pregnancy test and it came back positive we were over the moon. We immediately went out and bought clothes, bedding, and anything else that we laid our eyes on. Our familes were also excited and started preparing for the next 8 months. Less than two weeks later, and one day before my first prenatal appointment, I started bleeding. After two long days of waitng for blood work I was informed that I was having a miscarriage. I thought that I would never stop crying. My husband tried to pretend that it didn't happen so that he could cope and I avoided the calls from family and friends for a long time. It was a fear of mine and, unfortunately, it came true. I took solace in the fact that miscarrages are common and the next time we could have a completely healthy pregnancy. I've known many women to do so. | ||
