Lengthy Cramping and Ovulation

I have had moderate cramping since my period stopped. Sometimes it's all over the bottom of my pelvis and sometimes just the right and then sometimes just the left side. It's been maybe a week or so.

I should have ovulated between March 25 and 30th. I've been testing with ovulation strips since before the 25th and haven't had the two dark lines I should be seeing if it happened.

My period for the past two months has began on the 16th. Is it possible to skip ovulation for a month and then ovulate the following month?

Skipped Ovulation Possible
by: Sally

Skipping ovulation some months is possible. If you have previously noted positives with the ovulation strips, it's possible that you didn't ovulate this month or that it's running later than normal.

It's a good idea to use several different methods for this reason (such as BBT charting and/or cervical mucus observation) so that you can be more certain of what's going on.

For example, if your temperature spiked during the time that your ovulation strip still remained negative, you would get the indication that you had already ovulated (basal temperature rises after ovulation).

I'm not sure what the cramping could have been. Is this normal for you? You may want to be checked over by a doctor if you have concerns about this cramping.
