Conception DateAre you wondering "When did my conception date occur? When did I get pregnant?"
If you don't know when you ovulated, you can track your conception based on your last menstrual period. Conception typically occurs about 11-21 days after the first day of a woman's last menstrual period. Additionally, the estimated due date is 40 weeks from the first day of the last menstrual period. However, only approximately 5% of babies are born on their estimated due date. If you don't know either the date of your last menstrual period or your ovulation date and you have irregular periods and have no clue when conception occurred, your doctor or midwife can get a pretty good idea how far along you are on physical examination by feeling the size of your uterus. An ultrasound done between the 8th and 18th week of pregnancy can give a fairly accurate estimate of when baby conception took place. No one really knows exactly when conception occurred. The exception to this is the women who have undergone in vitro fertilization or artificial insemination. These women know their exact conception day.
