Cervical Mucus Ovulation

I have PCOS and don't really ovulate often. I have just noticed this watery string-like discharge and was excited to know this could be what me and my fiancé have been waiting for, but when I checked 3 hours later the egg white mucus was gone. Does this mean we have no chance any more?

The watery discharge you saw could have been egg white cervical mucus, but it could also have been semen from recent sexual intercourse. It's common to get these two fluids mixed up, especially when trying to conceive and having sex often.

It also could be that you were having egg white mucus coming out, but then the rest was just retained up inside without coming out.

When you see this again, you can perform a technique to better check your mucus that I describe on this page about cervical mucus.
