Bloating During Ovulation

by Bukola
(Nigeria)

I have been married for over 3 years now, and my husband and I have been trying really hard to get pregnant but nothing has happened. I am 33 years old.

I notice that when I am ovulating my tummy gets bigger and I seem to pass out gas (like some air coming out). I need to know if this is normal or not. Also the cervical mucus is not strong enough. Please advise.

Mid-Cycle Symptoms NEW
by: Sally

This sounds like typical ovulation symptoms to me. Gas-like pains and pressure are part of what is called "mittelschmerz" which is the pain that can occur around the time of ovulation.

This is very common along with other symptoms such as light spotting or bleeding.

If your cervical mucus is not plentiful enough, it is important to improve the quality and quantity of your cervical fluid in order for the sperm to be able to pass efficiently to fertilize the egg.

I go into great detail on this page concerning improving cervical mucus.
